Connector Guide

LVDS Connector Families

We stock and source connectors from every major LVDS connector family for immediate prototype and volume production.

JAE FI-X / FI-RE Series

Industry standard for consumer LCD panels. 20, 30, 40, and 50-pin variants with 1.0mm pitch. Widely used in monitors, TVs, and digital signage.

Hirose DF13 / DF19

Reliable micro connectors for industrial and medical displays. DF13 offers 1.25mm pitch, DF19 provides ultra-low profile for space-constrained designs.

I-PEX CABLINE Series

Ultra-thin micro coaxial connectors for laptops and tablets. CABLINE-VS, -CA, and -UM variants support 20 to 40 positions at 0.4-0.5mm pitch.

Molex SlimStack

Board-to-board and board-to-cable solutions with 0.5mm pitch. Ideal for tight PCB layouts in embedded systems and compact industrial devices.

IPEX 20455 / 20453

Standard laptop LVDS connectors. 20455 is the board-side header, 20453 is the cable-side receptacle. 30 and 40-pin versions for HD and FHD panels.

Automotive FAKRA / HSD

FAKRA mini coax and HSD (High Speed Data) connectors for automotive LVDS camera links and infotainment display connections.

The biggest mistake I see with LVDS cable assemblies is treating them like ordinary ribbon cables. LVDS is a high-speed differential interface — every millimeter of impedance mismatch shows up as noise on the display. We verify 100-ohm impedance with TDR on every cable and check pair-to-pair skew, because a 2mm length difference between pairs can cause visible color shift on a 1080p panel. That's the level of precision that separates a reliable LVDS cable from one that causes intermittent display failures in the field.

Custom LVDS Cable Assembly Manufacturing for Display & High-Speed Data Applications

As a specialized LVDS cable assembly manufacturer, OurPCB delivers impedance-controlled, EMI-shielded cable assemblies for display interfaces across consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive, and industrial automation. Our cable assembly capabilities cover every LVDS configuration from single-channel notebook display cables to quad-channel 4K industrial vision interfaces.

LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) remains the dominant display interface in medical imaging, industrial HMI panels, and automotive instrument clusters where proven reliability outweighs the bandwidth advantages of newer interfaces. Our LVDS cable assemblies maintain strict 100-ohm differential impedance through precision-controlled conductor spacing, consistent dielectric thickness, and proper shielding termination.

For applications requiring EMI shielding, we offer individual pair shielding, overall braid shields, and combination shielding configurations that meet FCC Class B and CISPR 32 emission limits. Our braiding capability delivers 85%+ coverage for demanding electromagnetic environments including aerospace and defense applications.

We work with all major LVDS connector families including JAE FI-X series, Hirose DF13/DF19, I-PEX CABLINE, and Molex SlimStack. Our global sourcing network ensures competitive pricing on both common and specialty LVDS connectors.

For automotive ADAS and infotainment applications, our LVDS cables support FAKRA and Mini-FAKRA connectors with automotive-grade temperature ratings. Our assemblies pass vibration, thermal cycling, and salt spray testing per USCAR and LV214 standards.

Every LVDS cable assembly undergoes 100% electrical testing including continuity verification, insulation resistance, and TDR impedance measurement. Combined with our ISO 9001 quality system and free DFM review, we support LVDS cable projects from first prototype through volume production with no minimum order quantity. Common Questions

LVDS Cable Assembly FAQ

LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) cables carry high-speed digital video and data signals between circuit boards. The most common application is connecting a graphics controller (GPU or TCON) to an LCD display panel in laptops, monitors, medical imaging systems, industrial HMIs, and automotive infotainment. LVDS uses differential signaling with low voltage swings (~350mV) to achieve high data rates with minimal EMI radiation.

LVDS and eDP (Embedded DisplayPort) both carry display signals, but eDP is a newer standard with higher bandwidth per lane (up to 8.1 Gbps per lane vs ~945 Mbps per LVDS lane). LVDS requires more differential pairs for high resolutions, resulting in thicker cables. eDP uses fewer lanes with higher speed per lane, enabling thinner cables. We manufacture both types and can build transition cables that bridge LVDS controllers to eDP panels. See our DisplayPort cable assembly page for eDP options.

LVDS signals require 100-ohm differential impedance matching between transmitter, cable, and receiver. Even small impedance mismatches cause signal reflections that degrade the eye diagram and increase bit error rates. At multi-hundred megabit speeds, a 10% impedance deviation can cause display artifacts like flickering, color banding, or no signal. We verify impedance with TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) testing on every LVDS cable assembly.

Yes, we manufacture automotive-grade LVDS cables that meet USCAR and LV214 requirements. Our automotive LVDS assemblies use high-temperature materials rated -40°C to +105°C, pass salt spray and vibration testing, and support FAKRA and HSD (High Speed Data) connectors commonly used in ADAS camera links, instrument clusters, and rear-seat entertainment systems.

We work with all major LVDS connector families: JAE FI-X and FI-RE series for consumer displays, Hirose DF13 and DF19 for industrial panels, I-PEX CABLINE series for ultra-thin applications, Molex SlimStack for board-to-board, and IPEX 20455/20453 for laptop-style connections. We source connectors to match your specific panel and controller pinout requirements.

We have no minimum order quantity. Order 1 prototype for development testing or 100,000 units for mass production. Prototype LVDS cable assemblies typically ship within 3-5 business days for standard connector types. Volume production lead times are 2-3 weeks depending on connector availability and testing requirements.

Every LVDS cable undergoes 100% electrical testing: continuity, insulation resistance, and hi-pot testing. For impedance-critical assemblies, we perform TDR testing to verify 100-ohm differential impedance across the full cable length. Advanced testing includes differential pair skew measurement, crosstalk analysis, and functional display testing where we verify the cable produces a clean image on the target display panel.
