Waterproof Cable Assembly

We manufacture cable assemblies rated from IP65 to IP68 and IP69K. IP67 is most common for outdoor and automotive applications, while IP68 is used for continuous submersion. We select connectors and sealing methods appropriate for your rating requirements.

Waterproof sealing is achieved through proper connector selection, correct seal/grommet installation, overmolding, and potting compounds. The method depends on the IP rating, connector type, and application environment.

Yes, we manufacture marine-grade cables with corrosion-resistant connectors, tinned copper conductors, and appropriate sealing for salt water environments. Our marine cables meet ABYC and Coast Guard requirements.

Yes. We build custom outdoor-rated cable assemblies to your drawing and IP target — from IP65/IP66 for rain and hose-down exposure through IP67/IP68 for immersion. Outdoor builds add UV-stable jackets, sunlight- and ozone-resistant materials, and sealed strain relief so the assembly survives long-term sun, temperature cycling, and weathering, not just the initial water test.

Yes. A 2-core waterproof wiring harness — two conductors for power, a sensor signal, or a switched load — is one of our most common outdoor builds. We overmold or use sealed 2-pin connectors (M8, M12, Deutsch DT, or a potted gland) with the two cores color-coded and the transition fully sealed to IP67/IP68. We also build 3-core, 4-core, and multi-core versions to the same rating.

Overmolding injects a thermoplastic or thermoset material around the connector-to-cable transition, encapsulating the terminals and bonding to the cable jacket. This eliminates the gap where water normally wicks in, provides strain relief, and — with the right material and tooling — achieves a repeatable IP67, IP68, or IP69K seal without a separate gasket that can be omitted during assembly.
