Understanding Ampacity
Ampacity is the maximum current a conductor can carry continuously without exceeding its temperature rating. It depends on conductor size, insulation type, ambient temperature, and installation conditions.
Important: Always apply appropriate derating factors for bundled conductors and elevated temperatures. Exceeding ampacity limits causes overheating and can lead to insulation damage or fire.
