Split-Delivery Recovery During a Connector Shortage

A de-identified project scenario drawn from real production records. Client identity is withheld under confidentiality.

The Challenge

An industrial machinery integrator needed high-volume harnesses built around specific Bulgin connectors, but a severe connector shortage worsened by regional lockdowns caused delays and pushed the customer to consider moving harness build in-house.

What We Did

We executed a split-delivery plan to ship completed portions immediately while the remaining connector stock arrived, and kept the customer's planning team updated with transparent material-constraint and lead-time communication.

Outcome

  • Split (phased) delivery kept the production line running
  • 100-200 piece order ranges fulfilled in phases
  • Complete line stoppage prevented
  • Manufacturing contract retained despite the in-house alternative
