Engineering Clarification to Lock Down Harness Specs
A de-identified project scenario drawn from real production records. Client identity is withheld under confidentiality.
The Challenge
A heavy-machinery manufacturer requested quotes for several custom harness models but supplied incomplete drawings, missing relay models, Deutsch connector part numbers, and Hammond enclosure details, which blocked accurate quoting and risked errors on the 200-piece batch.
What We Did
We ran an engineer-to-engineer clarification process, compiling a detailed technical checklist that guided the customer's engineering team to supply the missing specifications, so every requirement was locked down before sampling.
Outcome
- 3 sample units accurately quoted
- 200-piece production run enabled
- All specifications locked down before sampling
- Costly rework and material delays prevented
